Paraagan II disaster

Destruction of a mining colony blamed on Enterprise

In 2152 the mining colony on Paraagan II was wiped out after an Enterprise shuttlepod appeared to ignite its atmosphere, and Starfleet ordered Enterprise home in disgrace.

About 3,600 colonists died when the atmosphere around the settlement ignited during an Enterprise shuttle flight. Starfleet and the Vulcans concluded that humans had acted recklessly, and Enterprise's mission was suspended.
The temporal agent Daniels revealed to Archer that the disaster had been engineered by the Suliban Cabal as part of the Temporal Cold War. Archer was pulled into the conflict and briefly stranded in the future, but he returned with proof of the sabotage, and Enterprise was allowed to continue exploring.
