Worf and Ezri face execution as the Dominion sidelines Damar, while Kai Winn turns toward the Pah-wraiths under Dukat's influence.
The Breen hand Worf and Ezri to the Dominion, whose new alliance pushes the Cardassians further aside. Damar's objections are ignored by Weyoun, and the Dominion abandons a huge Cardassian garrison on Septimus III to be destroyed by the Klingons. Worf kills Weyoun with his bare hands, only for a new clone to replace him, and Worf and Ezri make peace over Jadzia's memory. Disgusted with the Dominion, Damar frees them and offers to help the Federation.
On Bajor, Kai Winn receives a vision telling her to reject the Prophets. Her disguised companion reveals that he was sent by the Pah-wraiths, and Winn, unable to reach the Prophets and hungry for power, chooses to follow them.
