The elderly leader of the outlawed sun worshippers on 892-IV, whose faith Uhura realizes is devoted to the Son of God.
Septimus is a former senator on 892-IV who now leads a community of outlawed sun worshippers hiding outside the city. In Bread and Circuses, he and his followers shelter Kirk's landing party, though they are at first suspicious of them.
The sun worshippers reject the violence of the empire and preach brotherhood. At the end of the episode Uhura realizes that they worship not the sun but the Son, suggesting that a version of Christianity is rising on the planet. He was played by Ian Wolfe.
