The crew meets a hunter and a shapeshifting alien.
Enterprise investigates a rogue planet with no sun, which supports life thanks to volcanic heat. The crew meets the Eska, alien hunters who visit the world regularly to stalk its native creatures for sport.
Archer keeps seeing a mysterious woman in the forest, and he learns she is a wraith, one of the planet's shape-shifting natives who can take forms drawn from others' minds. She appeals to him for help because the hunters are killing her people. Archer finds a way to mask the wraiths from the Eska's scanners. Stephanie Niznik guest stars as the wraith. The episode was directed by Allan Kroeker, with a teleplay by Chris Black.
