Damrus leads a group of Eska who travel to the rogue planet Dakala to hunt. In Rogue Planet he meets the Enterprise away team and lets them share his camp, explaining over dinner that his people have hunted there for nine generations.
He reveals that the prey can sense their hunters' thoughts, which makes the hunt a challenge. Archer learns that the creatures, which the Eska call wraiths, are intelligent shapeshifters who want the hunting to stop, and he works with Phlox to help them hide from Damrus and his companions.
