A rogue planet drifting without a star, used by the Eska as a hunting ground and home to telepathic shapeshifters.
Dakala is a planet that wanders through space without a solar system. Geothermal heat keeps a dark jungle alive on its surface. Eska hunters have visited it for nine generations to hunt its wildlife, which can sense the thoughts of those who stalk it.
In Rogue Planet the Enterprise crew discovers that the Eska's quarry includes intelligent shapeshifting beings that can take the form of anything on the planet. One of them appears to Archer as a woman and asks for his help, and Archer finds a way to mask the creatures from the hunters.
