To survive a deadly radiation storm, the crew shelters for days inside a warp nacelle's narrow catwalk, unaware that aliens plan to seize the ship.
Enterprise is warned of an approaching neutron storm whose radiation will flood the ship for days, and it cannot outrun it. The entire crew, along with three alien travelers they have taken aboard, crowds into the shielded maintenance catwalk inside one of the warp nacelles.
The cramped conditions strain everyone's patience, and the captain gets to know members of his crew he has rarely spoken to. Their guests prove to be fugitives from a militia, the Takret, who board the empty ship during the storm, and Archer and his officers must venture out to take it back. The episode was directed by Mike Vejar and written by Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong.
