Troi's mother Lwaxana arrives for a conference, with a suspect delegation.
Lwaxana Troi returns to the Enterprise, in a rather fussy mood, as the Federation transports her to a conference on Pacifica. She is going through a period in her life that puts her in a predatory mood, and she sets her sights on Captain Picard, who does all he can to avoid her. Meanwhile, the Enterprise is also carrying some difficult Antedean delegates.
The story is a mixture of comedy and farce, with Picard finding himself hiding in the holodeck from his admirer. A subplot reveals that the Antedeans have an agenda of their own. This is the second appearance of Lwaxana, and it develops her comic role as an unstoppable force who makes the crew squirm. It is a light entry in the series.
