Worf meets a half-Klingon envoy who loves him.
K'Ehleyr, a half-human, half-Klingon diplomat, comes aboard the Enterprise to help with the delicate situation of an old Klingon sleeper ship that may wake up and attack a Federation colony, believing that the war with the Federation is still on. She also happens to be a former lover of Worf.
Worf's feelings are complicated, as they are two people who are not entirely at ease with their dual identities. Their relationship is the heart of the episode, and the sleeper ship plot forces them to work together. K'Ehleyr returns in a later season. The episode is an important step in developing Worf's backstory and his relationship with his Klingon identity.
