Jean-Luc Picard's older brother, a vintner who stayed in La Barre to run the family vineyard.
Robert Picard ran the family vineyard in La Barre, France, holding to tradition and resisting modern technology. In Family he was visited by Jean-Luc, who was recovering after his assimilation by the Borg. Robert resented his brother's success, and their old rivalry came to a head in a fight in the vineyard mud, which finally let Jean-Luc break down and face his trauma.
Robert was married to Marie, and their son René wanted to go to space. In Star Trek Generations, Picard learned that Robert and René had both died in a fire, ending the direct Picard family line.
