Jadzia Dax is arrested for a crime committed in a previous host's life.
Jadzia Dax is seized by Ilon Tandro of Klaestron IV, who accuses her of a murder he believes her predecessor Curzon Dax committed decades earlier: the betrayal of his father, a celebrated general, during a civil war. Kira insists on an extradition hearing under Bajoran law, and Sisko argues that Jadzia and Curzon are different people.
Jadzia stays strangely calm and will not defend herself. Odo travels to Klaestron and learns that Curzon had been having an affair with the general's widow, Enina. Enina finally testifies that Curzon was with her on the night in question, clearing Dax, and Jadzia had been keeping silent to protect that secret.
