The 2401 pursuit in which the USS Titan, carrying Jack Crusher, escaped Vadic's warship Shrike by hiding inside a nebula.
In 2401 the USS Titan, commanded by Liam Shaw, picked up Beverly Crusher and her son Jack at Picard's request. Vadic's powerful warship, the Shrike, followed and demanded that Jack be handed over. The Titan was badly outgunned, and Shaw was seriously wounded in the attack.
The Titan fled into a nebula, with the Shrike close behind. The crew discovered that the nebula held a spacefaring life form about to give birth, and they used the energy of the birth to break away. The escape kept Jack out of Vadic's hands.
