A suave Klingon captain who clashed with Kirk over tribbles at Space Station K-7 and later swore a blood oath with Kor and Kang.
Koloth is a Klingon commander and Kirk's polished, sardonic counterpart during the tribble crisis at Deep Space Station K-7. His ship arrives on shore leave as tensions rise over a grain shipment, and his crew's quarrels with the Enterprise crew culminate in a bar brawl.
The tribbles expose the Klingon agent Arne Darvin, disguised as a Federation official, who had poisoned the grain. Koloth returns in the animated series in More Tribbles, More Troubles, once again troubled by tribbles. William Campbell played him in live action, and James Doohan voiced him in animation.
Koloth returns in the Deep Space Nine episode Blood Oath, joining his old comrades Kor and Kang and Jadzia Dax to hunt the warlord known as the Albino, who had killed their sons. He dies in that final battle, fighting alongside his companions.
