Bloodwine is integral to Klingon social life. Warriors share it in mess halls, toasts and ceremonies, and the drink often features in songs and stories of past battles. Non-Klingons are frequently warned that it is far stronger than they expect.
In 2370 Kor, Koloth and Kang reunited on Deep Space Nine with Jadzia Dax to fulfill a blood oath, and the old warriors celebrated with bloodwine. Worf and Martok also drank it often during the Dominion War.
