American actor who played the godlike Trelane and the Klingon captain Koloth in The Original Series and returned as Koloth in Deep Space Nine.
William Campbell (1923–2011) was an American actor who played supporting roles in major films of the 1950s and 1960s and starred in several low-budget genre films. He played two memorable Star Trek guests in the original series.
In The Squire of Gothos (1967) he played Trelane, a childish and immensely powerful being who toys with the Enterprise crew. In The Trouble with Tribbles he played the Klingon captain Koloth, Kirk's rival on Space Station K-7, and nearly three decades later he reprised Koloth alongside John Colicos and Michael Ansara in the Deep Space Nine episode Blood Oath.
