Bajoran veteran of Shakaar's resistance cell who fled into the mountains with his old comrades when Kai Winn tried to arrest their leader.
Furel is a member of Shakaar Edon's resistance cell from the occupation, a comrade of Kira Nerys who now farms with Shakaar in Dahkur Province. In Shakaar, he joins the group refusing to surrender their soil reclamators to First Minister Winn.
When Winn sends security forces after Shakaar, Furel goes on the run with him, Kira and Lupaza. As the militia closes in, he argues for standing and fighting, but the confrontation ends without bloodshed when the old fighters recognize their pursuers as fellow Bajorans.
