A planet that seemed to be primitive but was home to powerful beings.
Organia is a planet that sits between the territories of the Federation and the Klingon Empire, and which is home to the Organians. It appears to be a simple, agrarian world, with a population of peaceful villagers who live in a pre-industrial society, but in truth it is the home of beings of pure energy.
The planet's location made it strategically important, and both powers wanted to control it in the event of a war. The Organians did not take sides, and they seemed to be of little interest. In reality, they were far more powerful than either side, and they were able to put a stop to the conflict by themselves.
Organia is the setting for the original series episode Errand of Mercy, in which Kirk and Spock go to the planet to organise a resistance against the Klingons, who have occupied the planet under the command of Kor. When the Organians reveal their true nature, they put an end to the fighting, and impose a treaty that binds both sides.
