Hanon IV is the harsh, primitive planet where the Kazon-Nistrim marooned Voyager's crew after seizing the ship.
Hanon IV is a barren Delta Quadrant world of volcanic terrain, dangerous creatures and hostile primitive natives. After Seska and Culluh captured Voyager, the Kazon left the crew stranded on its surface with no technology.
In Basics, Part II, Janeway's people struggled to survive, building shelter and seeking food while facing attacks from the natives and a predatory creature that killed Lieutenant Hogan. They were rescued after Tom Paris, the Doctor and Lon Suder retook the ship. Hogan's remains, left behind on Hanon IV, were later found by Voth scientists in Distant Origin.
