Banea is the home planet of the Baneans, a Delta Quadrant people engaged in a long war with the neighboring Numiri. Its justice system punished murderers by implanting the victim's final memories into the convicted, forcing them to relive the crime at regular intervals.
In Ex Post Facto, Tom Paris and Harry Kim visited Banea for help with damaged equipment, and Paris was arrested after the death of the physicist Tolen Ren. Voyager traveled to the planet, fending off Numiri ships along the way, and Tuvok's investigation there cleared Paris and uncovered a spy ring passing secrets to the enemy.
