American actor who played the con man Harry Mudd in two Original Series episodes and voiced him in The Animated Series.
Roger C. Carmel (1932–1986) was an American actor who originated roles on Broadway, appeared in scores of television guest roles and co-starred in the sitcom The Mothers-in-Law.
He is best remembered as Harcourt Fenton Mudd, the roguish interstellar con artist of Mudd's Women (1966) and I, Mudd (1967), the second of which pits the Enterprise crew against a planet of androids. Carmel voiced Mudd again in The Animated Series episode Mudd's Passion. He died in 1986, and the character was later revived by other actors.
