American stage and screen actor who played Rom, Quark's brother, who went from bar employee to engineer to Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance.
Max Grodénchik is an American actor, born in 1952, with a long background on stage. He is best known for playing Rom on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a recurring role across all seven seasons, in which the seemingly hapless brother of Quark proved a gifted engineer and eventually became Grand Nagus.
Before Deep Space Nine, Grodénchik played other Ferengi on The Next Generation, including Sovak in Captain's Holiday. He had auditioned for Quark before being cast as Rom, which placed him alongside Armin Shimerman for the run of the series.
