Sovak was a Ferengi treasure hunter who chased Vash across Risa in search of the legendary Tox Uthat.
Sovak was a Ferengi who arrived on Risa in Captain's Holiday in pursuit of Vash, an archaeologist with information leading to the Tox Uthat, a powerful device from the future hidden on the planet. When Vash kissed Picard to get rid of Sovak, the Ferengi assumed Picard was her partner.
Sovak tried to force them to lead him to the Uthat, and when it was unearthed he held them at gunpoint to claim it. The Vorgons Ajur and Boratus were also hunting the device. In the end Picard destroyed the Uthat, leaving Sovak with nothing. Max Grodénchik played him.
