Satie inquiry

Admiral Satie's investigation aboard the Enterprise-D

In 2367 an inquiry into sabotage aboard the Enterprise-D, led by Admiral Norah Satie, turned into a paranoid hunt for traitors.

In 2367 an explosion in the Enterprise-D's warp core was blamed on sabotage, and a Klingon exchange officer was found to be passing secrets to the Romulans. Retired Admiral Norah Satie arrived to lead an investigation. The explosion was later found to be an accident, but Satie pressed on, accusing a young crewman, Simon Tarses, for hiding his partly Romulan ancestry.
When Picard objected, Satie turned the inquiry against him. During a hearing in front of Admiral Thomas Henry, Picard quoted her father's writings on freedom, and Satie lost her composure in an angry outburst. Admiral Henry ended the hearing, and Satie's investigation collapsed.
