The 2385 mission in which Admiral Janeway's cadets found Captain Chakotay, stranded with the original USS Protostar on the planet Ysida.
A year after the Living Construct crisis, Admiral Janeway brought Dal and his friends aboard the new USS Voyager as cadets. She was secretly planning a rescue mission to find Chakotay using a cloaked ship called the Infinity, and the cadets accidentally launched it into a wormhole before she was ready.
They found the Protostar marooned on Ysida, where a grieving Chakotay had been stranded for ten years after losing his crew. Dal's disappearance in a storm brought Chakotay back to action. Together they repowered the ship and left Ysida to rejoin Voyager.
