The 2381 bombing of the Pakled homeworld, blamed on Captain Carol Freeman until Starfleet discovered the Pakleds had framed her.
In 2381 a Veruvian bomb was detonated on Pakled Planet, and Captain Carol Freeman of the USS Cerritos was arrested and put on trial for the attack. Her daughter, Ensign Beckett Mariner, refused to wait for the legal process and recruited Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford to sneak aboard the impounded Cerritos in search of evidence.
The ensigns hijacked an amusement-park ship to reach the Cerritos and then tried to fly it to Earth, but Starfleet security caught them. Freeman and her senior staff then revealed that undercover Starfleet operatives had found that the Pakleds framed her in an attempt to win a better home planet.
