In 2024 astronaut Renée Picard launched on a crewed mission to Jupiter's moon Europa, after Jean-Luc Picard and his companions protected her from interference.
The Europa mission was a crewed flight from Earth to Jupiter's moon Europa. One of its astronauts, Renée Picard, was an ancestor of Jean-Luc Picard, and her decision to fly was a turning point in history. Q's alterations to the past had placed the mission at risk, and with it the future of the Federation.
Picard and his companions travelled to 2024 Los Angeles to protect Renée. Geneticist Adam Soong, encouraged by Q, tried to stop the launch, but Renée flew as planned and the timeline was restored.
