Renée Picard was an astronaut in 2024 and an ancestor of Jean-Luc Picard. Her place on the Europa mission was a turning point in history, and Q worked to undermine her, posing as her therapist and feeding her insecurities in the hope that she would withdraw. She was played by Penelope Mitchell.
At a pre-flight gala Jean-Luc persuaded her to go ahead by talking about his own mother, who had loved the stars and also struggled with her mental health. With the Watcher Tallinn sacrificing herself to stop Adam Soong's final attempt to kill her, Renée left on the mission.
