The 2263 Kelvin-timeline attack in which Krall's drone swarm struck Starbase Yorktown and the Enterprise crew stopped him.
In 2263 Starbase Yorktown was the Federation's newest and most advanced starbase. The Enterprise stopped there during its five-year mission, and soon after was lured into a nebula by a false call for help. There it was destroyed by a huge swarm of small ships commanded by Krall.
Krall was in truth Balthazar Edison, a former captain of the USS Franklin. He had been stranded on the planet Altamid for a century and come to hate the Federation. He wanted an ancient artifact Kirk carried, which would complete a bioweapon he planned to use on Yorktown.
With the help of Jaylah, the stranded crew repaired the Franklin and found they could disrupt the swarm with a radio broadcast of loud music. Krall still reached Yorktown and tried to release the weapon. Kirk fought him inside the station, and Krall was killed when he was blown out into space along with the weapon.
