Jake is lured by a writer's muse while Odo has to deal with a pregnancy.
Jake is drawn to Onaya, a mysterious woman who helps him write an ambitious novel by stimulating his mind while draining his life energy. Sisko returns early from a trip, saves Jake and drives Onaya off, and she leaves the station as a ball of energy.
In the second story, Lwaxana Troi, pregnant, asks Odo for help escaping her Tavnian husband, Jeyal, who wants their son raised among men. Odo marries her in a Tavnian ceremony, which forces him to convince Jeyal that he really loves her, and the plan works.
