Mysterious being who inspired artists to brilliant work while feeding on their life energy, until Benjamin Sisko saved Jake from her.
Onaya is a mysterious woman who approaches Jake Sisko on Deep Space Nine and offers to help him with his writing. By stimulating his mind she inspires him to work feverishly on an ambitious novel, but she is also feeding on his energy, and each session leaves him weaker.
In The Muse, Benjamin Sisko returns to the station and finds Onaya about to kill his son. She claims she lets artists live forever through the work she helps them create. When Sisko's phaser has no effect on her, she leaves the station as a ball of energy, and Jake keeps the beginnings of his novel.
