Tucker struggles with the deaths of his engineers, while Archer seeks peace with two of the Xindi species.
After the losses at Azati Prime, Archer honors the eighteen crew members who died and meets Degra and the Arboreal councilor Jannar at a sphere. He presents evidence that the Sphere Builders, not humans, are the Xindi's real enemy, and Degra agrees to try to delay the weapon.
Tucker must write to the parents of a fallen engineer, Jane Taylor, and struggles with grief and with his anger at Degra over his sister's death. He and Reed make a spacewalk to put out a plasma fire on the hull. When a Reptilian ship attacks, Degra helps destroy it and offers to arrange a meeting with the Xindi Council. The episode was directed by LeVar Burton and written by Chris Black and David A. Goodman.
