K'Ehleyr is a half-Klingon, half-human Federation ambassador in The Next Generation, played by Suzie Plakson. Sharp-witted and impatient with Klingon ritual, she feels fully at home in neither of her heritages.
In The Emissary she comes aboard the Enterprise to deal with a Klingon sleeper ship whose crew still believe the empire is at war with the Federation, and she rekindles a past romance with Worf, though she refuses the marriage oath he offers.
In Reunion she returns as an envoy during the struggle to succeed the dying Chancellor K'mpec, bringing a young son, Alexander, whom Worf learns is his child. While investigating the role of the Duras family in the Khitomer massacre, she uncovers the truth and is murdered by Duras. Worf kills Duras in revenge, and her death leaves him to raise Alexander.
