Reed and Tucker, stuck in a damaged shuttle, talk about what they would do if the ship were gone.
Reed and Tucker take a shuttlepod on a short survey, and on their way back they find what appears to be wreckage of Enterprise. Believing the ship destroyed and their own air running out, the two settle in to wait for an unlikely rescue.
With little to do, they drink a bottle of bourbon, argue, and talk about family, regrets and the women in their lives, and Reed records farewell messages. In fact Enterprise survived a collision with another ship and is searching for them. With air running out, they detonate the shuttlepod's engine to create a flare that the ship spots. The two-character story was directed by David Livingston and written by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga.
