A strange spatial anomaly distorts the structure of Voyager, twisting corridors and cutting off sections of the ship from one another. The crew is split up and must find their way back to each other while the ship's layout keeps changing.
It is a classic ship-in-peril episode, played largely as a puzzle, and it is remembered for its eerie visuals. It also allows the characters to interact in unusual pairings as they try to find a solution before the anomaly grows worse. The episode puts the whole crew to a test of improvisation.
