Domineering Trill businesswoman and mother of Ezri Dax whose family mining company became entangled with the Orion Syndicate.
Yanas Tigan is the mother of Ezri Dax and of Ezri's brothers Janel and Norvo. A shrewd and domineering businesswoman, she runs the family's mining operation near the planet New Sydney and is quick to criticise the choices Ezri has made since being joined.
In Prodigal Daughter, Ezri returns home for the first time in years to look for Miles O'Brien, who has gone missing while searching for the widow of Liam Bilby. The investigation reveals that the family business has been dealing with the Orion Syndicate behind Yanas's back, and that one of her sons is responsible for the widow's murder.
