Romulan senator whose assassination, arranged by Garak with Benjamin Sisko's unwitting help, brought the Romulan Empire into the Dominion War.
Vreenak is a Romulan senator and vice-chairman of the Tal Shiar. While the Romulans hold to their non-aggression pact with the Dominion, Benjamin Sisko and Elim Garak lure him to Deep Space Nine with a forged data rod that appears to show a Dominion plan to invade Romulus.
In In the Pale Moonlight, Vreenak exposes the forgery and leaves in fury, but his shuttle is destroyed on the way home by a bomb Garak had planted. The Romulans take the damaged data rod as genuine evidence that the Dominion killed him, and the Empire enters the war against the Dominion. He was played by Stephen McHattie.
