A nervous young engineer on the Enterprise-D who later rose to become a Starfleet captain.
Ensign Sonya Gomez joined the Enterprise-D engineering staff in Q Who. She was eager but easily flustered, and she famously spilled a cup of hot chocolate on Captain Picard. She also appeared in Samaritan Snare, working with Geordi La Forge.
Decades later she returned in Star Trek: Lower Decks as Captain Sonya Gomez of the USS Archimedes, in First First Contact. The character was played by Lycia Naff in both series.
