A brilliant engineer who helped design the Galaxy-class warp engines, first met by Geordi La Forge as a holodeck recreation.
Leah Brahms was one of the designers of the Galaxy-class engines, and her work was well known to Geordi La Forge. In Booby Trap, with the Enterprise-D caught in an ancient energy-draining trap, Geordi used the holodeck to create a simulation of Brahms from her records and worked with it to free the ship, growing attached to the recreation.
The real Brahms came aboard in Galaxy's Child. She was brusque and critical of Geordi's modifications to her engines, and she was angry when she found the holographic version of herself. She also turned out to be married. The two eventually reached a friendly understanding while saving the ship from an infant space creature.
