Kamala was an empathic metamorph, a woman able to sense and become whatever her partner desired. In The Perfect Mate she was travelling aboard the Enterprise-D to be married to Chancellor Alrik of Valt, a match intended to end the long war between Krios and Valt.
Ferengi passengers released her from stasis early, before she could bond with Alrik. Picard kept her at a distance, but she nevertheless bonded with him. She chose to go ahead with the marriage for the sake of peace. She was played by Famke Janssen.
