Dutch actress who played Kamala, the empathic metamorph of The Perfect Mate, before her film career in GoldenEye and X-Men.
Famke Janssen, a Dutch actress born in 1964, played Kamala in the fifth-season Next Generation episode The Perfect Mate. Kamala is a rare empathic metamorph raised to become the bride of a rival leader as part of a peace settlement, and her ability to become whatever her companion desires leads to a quiet, unresolved bond with Picard.
The guest role came early in Janssen's career, before she played Xenia Onatopp in GoldenEye, Jean Grey in the X-Men films and Lenore Mills in the Taken trilogy.
