Proud Cardassian officer who served as Damar's second-in-command in the rebellion against the Dominion until his hostility to Kira proved fatal.
Rusot is a Cardassian officer and Damar's second-in-command in the rebellion against the Dominion. Devoted to the old Cardassia and its military traditions, he resents Kira Nerys, the Bajoran resistance veteran sent to advise the rebels on guerrilla tactics, and openly disdains her advice and distrusts her motives.
In Tacking Into the Wind, after the rebels capture a Dominion ship fitted with the Breen energy-dampening weapon, Rusot urges Damar to let him kill Kira and keep the weapon for Cardassia alone. Damar kills Rusot instead, giving up the dream of restoring the old empire in favour of building a better one.
