Quark's cousin, a wealthy arms dealer whose success and private moon were a constant source of envy for Quark.
Gaila is Quark's cousin, a Ferengi who has grown rich in the weapons trade and owns his own moon, a symbol of the success Quark has never achieved. The two compete for status, and Gaila rarely misses a chance to remind Quark of the difference.
In Business as Usual, Gaila draws the indebted Quark into the arms business alongside the dealer Hagath, but Quark becomes sickened by the trade and sabotages a sale that would cost millions of lives. Gaila later joins Quark's rescue team when the Dominion holds Ishka in The Magnificent Ferengi.
