Rakhari fugitive who tempted Odo with stories of shapeshifters in the Gamma Quadrant while trying to rescue his daughter.
Croden is a Rakhari from the Gamma Quadrant who is taken into custody by Odo after a robbery at Quark's bar leaves a Miradorn dead. He tells Odo that shapeshifters once lived on his homeworld and were driven away, and he shows him a necklace holding a stone that changes shape.
In Vortex, Odo escorts Croden home for trial, and Croden admits he has never met a Changeling. The real purpose of his journey was to recover his daughter, whom he had hidden in stasis. Moved by his story, Odo arranges for a Vulcan ship to take them both to safety, and Croden leaves him the stone.
