The Chamra Vortex is a vast field of asteroids in the Gamma Quadrant, filled with unstable pockets of gas known as toh-maire. In Vortex, Croden guides Odo's runabout into it to escape the pursuing Miradorn Ah-Kel, and lands on an asteroid he claims hides a colony of Changelings.
The asteroid actually holds a chamber containing Croden's daughter, Yareth, in stasis. As they flee, Odo uses the toh-maire against Ah-Kel, tricking him into firing on a gas pocket that destroys his ship.
