A Ba'ku woman who showed Jean-Luc Picard her people's way of life and became his love interest in Star Trek: Insurrection.
Anij was one of the Ba'ku, a small community whose planet in the Briar Patch gave off metaphasic radiation that kept its inhabitants young. In Star Trek: Insurrection she welcomed Picard and introduced him to her people's slow, reflective way of life, showing him how to make a single moment last.
When the Son'a and Admiral Dougherty plotted to remove the Ba'ku, Anij helped Picard protect them. She was injured during their escape, and the planet's radiation helped her recover. Picard and Anij parted at the end of the film with the hope of seeing each other again.
