A humanoid species whose home system was wiped out by the probe Nomad and who were seen a century earlier exploiting a pre-warp world.
The Malurians are a humanoid species. In Civilization, a Malurian named Garos posed as an Akaali merchant while running an illegal mining operation beneath an Akaali town, whose waste was poisoning the local population. Jonathan Archer and his crew uncovered the scheme and shut it down.
In The Changeling, Kirk learned that the probe Nomad had destroyed all life in the Malurian system, killing about four billion people, because it judged them imperfect. Nomad was later destroyed by Kirk.
