A humanoid species known on screen through Retaya, a professional assassin whose arrival on Deep Space Nine drew Odo into a conspiracy.
The Flaxians appear to be a humanoid species with prominent ridges across the head and face. Their sole on-screen representative is Retaya, a Flaxian assassin who visited Deep Space Nine at the time Garak's tailor shop was bombed.
Odo's investigation into Retaya revealed that he had been sent after Garak, and shortly after leaving the station his ship was destroyed. The trail led Odo and Garak to a joint Romulan and Cardassian plot against the Founders, set out in the episode Improbable Cause.
