Pre-warp humanoids of Boraal II whose planet lost its atmosphere, and one of whose villages was secretly rescued by Worf's brother Nikolai.
Boraal II was home to a pre-warp people living in small villages with a strong tradition of chronicled history. A Federation observation post studied them until the planet's atmosphere began to dissipate in a catastrophe that would kill the population.
In Homeward, Nikolai Rozhenko defied the Prime Directive by beaming a village aboard the Enterprise and hiding them in a holodeck recreation of their caves. Worf, surgically altered to pass as a Boraalan, helped lead them to a new world, though their chronicler Vorin could not bear the truth when he learned it.
