Vorin is the chronicler of a Boraalan village, keeper of its history. When Nikolai Rozhenko secretly saves the village by moving them into a holodeck simulation aboard the Enterprise, Vorin is among the villagers who believe they are traveling through caves to a new home.
In Homeward, Vorin wanders out of the simulation into the ship's corridors and learns the truth. Unable to reconcile what he has seen with everything he knew, Vorin takes his own life, a sign of the cost of the crew's interference.
