A Starfleet ship lost at the planet Minos in 2364, destroyed by an automated weapons demonstration.
The USS Drake was a Starfleet starship commanded by Captain Paul Rice, a former Starfleet Academy classmate of William Riker. In 2364 the Drake disappeared while investigating the planet Minos, a former arms-dealing world in the Lorenze Cluster.
The Enterprise-D, sent to learn the ship's fate, found that the Minosians had wiped themselves out with their own automated weapons, which continued to demonstrate their products to any visitor. The system had destroyed the Drake and created an image of Rice to question Riker, and Picard ended the attack only by agreeing to buy the weapon so the demonstration would shut down.
